Alison Kirkby is a geophysicist specialising in electromagnetic, heat flow and potential field methods. Working with Finnigan Illsley-Kemp and PhD student Julia Berglind, she will combine magnetotelluric and new seismic data to investigate where rocks transition from brittle to ductile behaviour deep underground. She will also build models of fractured rocks to help explain how their physical properties influence the geophysical signals measured at the surface.
