2023 Geothermal Electricity Generation Report

The NZGA's 2023 Geothermal Electricity Generation Report is available to download. This report covers geothermal electricity generation, decarbonisation efforts, geothermal generation capacity evolution, and new geothermal electricity generation developments within Aotearoa New Zealand for the 2022 calendar year.

Recent NZGA Submissions

The following submissions to government were supported by our planning team:

1. NZGA Submission on proposed National Policy Statement for Renewable Electricity Generation (NPSREG) under the upcoming Resource Management Act (RMA) reforms.
2. NZGA Submission on the Climate Change Commission / He Pou a Rangi (CCC)'s advice to inform the strategic direction of the Government’s second emissions reduction plan, covering New Zealand’s 2026–2030 emissions budget.
