The Geothermal: The Next Generation (GNG) programme are pleased to introduce our advisory group members:

  • Jeff Winick (Chair) – Senior Technical Advisor, Contractor to US Department of Energy (DOE), Boston Government Services, LLC, USA
  • Bridget Ayling - Director of the Great Basin Center for Geothermal Energy, USA
  • Andri Stefánsson - Prof of Geochemistry, University of Reykjavik, Iceland
  • Hildigunnur (Hidda) Thorsteinsson - Managing Director of Research and Innovation, Reykjavik Energy, Iceland
  • Hiroshi Asanuma - Principal Research Manager, Renewable Energy Research Center of Fukushima Renewable Energy Institute (FREA), in the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) Tsukuba, Japan

Our International Advisory Group will provide an external lens and soundboard for the Geothermal: The Next Generation (GNG) research programme.  They will provide a two-way platform to debate, think outside of the NZ ‘box’, engage with the international community, and think critically about the work being undertaken and its relevance, application, accessibility, and standard.

We are excited to have them aboard to peer-review the science programme and help us to identify multi-disciplinary and international research opportunities to complement, contribute to and benefit from research outcomes.

Their bios are on our Science Team page.
