We presented the Geothermal: The Next Generation (GNG) programme to the international geothermal community at the World Geothermal Congress 2020+1.

This much anticipated five-yearly congress was initially scheduled to be hosted in Iceland as in-person event, in April 2020. We are pleased that the organising committee chose not to cancel, but instead to evolve the congress into five virtual events (May-July 2021) and one on-site event in October 2021 in Reykjavík.

The silver lining to this delay is that we were able to submit a paper and presentation on GNG (which started after the initial congress submissions closed), and because it is a pre-recorded presentation and virtual event, we can share the video here with you too.

Watch the presentation by the GNG programme leader, Isabelle Chambefort, presented at the second virtual event in April 2021. You can download our conference paper or find out more about international supercritical projects presented at WGC.
